2016 marked the first year that we participated, as an entrant, in the Annual Lemoore Chamber of Commerce Christmas Parade. Each year there are more than 100 local businesses, and organizations, that compete for the top prize. With some creativity, some excellent craftsmanship from our team, and plenty of smiles, we were awarded First Place in the Commercial & or Community float devision.

Gift of Warmth Blanket Drive – WE SURPASSED OUR GOAL! THANK YOU!

Tuesday, January 26th, 2016

GOAL: 250/500 — FINAL: 350/700!

Print

This is our 3rd year doing our Gift of Warmth Blanket Drive. We would like to thank all of our amazing customers, family, and friends for helping us to meet our goal this year and to surpass last year’s goal!

We were able to collect 350 blankets and Shaw’s matched that number so we delivered a total of 700 blankets to the Lemoore Christian Aid. All the blankets will be distributed to homeless families, or families in need in our community. The blankets range from king size comforters to baby blankets. There will be a lot of warm and happy people enjoying these blankets.

A special thank you goes out to all the kids, teachers, staff and parents from Island Union School. Without their help we would not have surpassed our goal from last year.

Great job!

Gift of Warmth – Thank you!

Wednesday, January 28th, 2015

thank youThis winter season, we’ve had our share of cold weather, and it serves as a reminder that the kind of warmth and comfort that so many of us enjoy is hard to come by for others.

With the help of Island Elementary School students, Shaw’s Blanket Drive was a huge success! This last week we delivered 350 blankets to KCAO in Hanford. They will in turn give the blankets to the Kings County women’s shelter and a number of different homeless families in our community.

Thank you to all of our customers, family, friends, and Island School families for your generous donations.

Shaw’s Support for Drought Relief in Food Giveaway

Tuesday, September 9th, 2014

This month, Shaw’s Air Conditioning & Heating help out with “California Water Feeds our Communities” and  the California Community Food Bank in a food drive to help impacted communities throughout the state who are suffeCCF03102011_00000ring from a lack of food as a result of our drought.
“As responsible citizens of our community, we need to help out the less fortunate. Especially in the state that we’re in with no water. This is just our way of giving back and helping out some families” commented Annette Shaw.

Trucks loaded with fresh, local produce will be sent to food banks in Merced, Bakersfield, Los Angeles, Watsonville, Salinas, Santa Maria, Oxnard, Riverside and San Diego. 2“We are seeing an increased number of people in line at our food banks at the same time that drought conditions have driven up the cost of food, making it difficult to provide for everyone.” said Andy Souza, President and CEO of the Community Food Bank.

The drought ‘s e ffect is now apparent with farmers and it is contributing to high rates of unemployment. The result is higher costs of living has rippled throughout California effecting both city and rural communities.  No area is exempt.

As food banks take a big hit in current conditions, efforts made by entities such as Fresno Downtown Business Hub, El Agua Es Asunto De Todos, 1Westlands Water District, and CalWA are making a difference in ensuring that people are fed.

California Water Feeds Our Communities will be sending trucks of locally donated food, departing from Fresno, CA, starting on September 3rd to at-risk food banks across California. If you’d like to make a donation to the drive, contact Diana Enriquez at 559-513-8561 or  Diana@aguaasuntodetodos.com.3

Latest and Greatest Blanket Drive Update

Wednesday, December 18th, 2013

The blanket pile keeps getting bigger and bigger as more donations continue to get dropped off and picked up. We are so excited that this blanket drive has been such a success. The unofficial count so far is over 132 blankets (66 donations and 66 matched by Shaw’s Air Conditioning & Heating).

It has gotten COLD here in Lemoore and the surrounding area, with temperatures dropping below freezing at night all week. Many people in our community go without the comfort of basic amenities such as jackets and blankets to keep them warm. If you can give this season, please do! We will continue to accept donations of new or gently used blankets at our shop through December 31st, 2013.

16838 18th Ave., Lemoore, CA 93245

If you are unable to bring a blanket in, we are more than happy to pick it up! Just give us a call and let us know where to go.

Thank you to all who have already donated! We are so grateful to our community for joining us in this effort and we can’t wait bring these blankets to people who truly are need this holiday season.
