The Benefits of Zone Controlled Systems

Monday, February 25th, 2019

house-cross-section-hvac-zones-big_800x533This time of year here in Lemoore is when homeowners decide that they want to replace their heating system after a long winter or get a new air conditioning system before spring rolls around—some even do both! If you fall into either of these categories, we want to take the time to discuss zone controlled heating and cooling systems. A zone-controlled system is an amazing asset to any home here in King, Tulare, or Fresno counties since we experience extremely high heat in summer and chilly temperatures in winter, it can be hard to adequately heat or cool your entire home evenly.

While zone-controlled systems are possible to retrofit, it’s much easier to do as a new install. So if you’re moving into a new home, adding on, or just doing a major revamp of your home you should consider installation of a zone controlled system in Lemoore, CA.

Community Focus: The Lemoore Christmas Parade

Thursday, December 6th, 2018

Company founders Annette Shaw (left) and Jeff Shaw (right).

Here at Shaw’s Air Conditioning & Heating, we pride ourselves on keeping things local. This year we wanted to get in the holiday season with our community so we marched out on the first of the month to participate in Lemoore Chamber of Commerce’s Annual Christmas Parade. We’re pretty proud of our float. We decked it out with multicolored lights (even on the truck pulling our float!), a Christmas tree, and our unique Shaw’s Air Conditioning & Heating flare—a parade float designed like a home! Our float depicted a comfy living room scene familiar to any Lemoore resident, complete with a furnace system to keep you cozy throughout the winter and a carbon monoxide monitor to keep you safe.

The message of our float was to underscore the importance of carbon monoxide monitors for home safety.

Building our float was a team effort, so we got the whole Shaw’s community together for the parade.

The Shaw’s Air Conditioning & Heating family.

We love this parade and this time of year. Our team did an amazing job with our float and we enjoyed seeing so many other members of our community showcase their passions through these floats. The Christmas parade is one of our favorite community events because of this reason.

Why You Might Want to Install a Zone Control System This Winter

Monday, January 30th, 2017

thermostatIf you’re one of the many millions of people who use central forced air heating systems, there are a couple of things that you should know. The one-size-fits-all method of heating has a lot of advantages, but it has a number of disadvantages as well. Most central forced-air heating systems have only two settings: on and off. Each room in the home has different heating needs, due to differences in insulation, sunlight exposure, and air flow. Applying the same amount of heat across the entire house will be just fine for some rooms, but will be too much or too little for others. This creates hot and cold spots throughout the house, as well as wasting quite a bit of energy in the long run.

Lucky for you, there is a way to solve these issues without installing an entirely new heating system: zone control.
